Voltaren Emulgel 12HR (Diclofenac Diethylamine 2.32% w/w Gel) is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulated to provide long-lasting relief from pain and inflammation associated with muscles, joints, and soft tissues. It contains diclofenac diethylamine 2.32% w/w, equivalent to diclofenac sodium 2% w/w, which penetrates the skin to help reduce inflammation directly at the site of pain while minimizing systemic exposure compared with oral NSAIDs.
The gel is designed to deliver effective pain relief for up to 12 hours, making it suitable for twice-daily application. Its non-greasy, fast-absorbing emulgel formulation combines the cooling feel of a gel with the moisturizing properties of a cream, allowing for comfortable application without leaving a heavy residue.
Voltaren Emulgel 12HR is indicated for the temporary relief of pain and inflammation associated with sprains, strains, sports injuries, tendonitis, bursitis, back pain, and localized osteoarthritis of superficial joints such as the knees and hands, where approved. It helps improve mobility by reducing swelling, stiffness, and tenderness in the affected area.
For best results, apply a thin layer to clean, dry, intact skin over the affected area twice daily, gently massaging until fully absorbed. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, mucous membranes, and broken or infected skin. Wash your hands after application unless treating the hands themselves.
Common side effects may include mild skin irritation, redness, itching, dryness, or rash at the application site. Do not use if you are allergic to diclofenac, aspirin, or other NSAIDs.
